“Guess that sentence” – esl activity idea

This is a great activity idea to use in the esl classroom. It combines reading, synonyms, grammar (parts of the sentence) and a bit of personalisation. It works great at the beginning of a course when students still don’t know their teacher.
Task
- Guess that sentence!
Excerpt
Clues:
1. It’s a pronoun used to refer to a woman.
2. It’s an adverb which means that something almost never happens, it consists of two words.
3. It’s a verb which means the same as ‘eat’ or ‘drink’.
4. It’s a noun – a hot drink, it can be black or green.
5. It’s a preposition.
6. It’s an article we use when we mean something specific.
7. It’s a noun which means the first part of the day. [...]
