“Fox Hunting in Britain” raising cultural awareness lesson

Procedure

  1. Present Ss with pictures. Ask them to analyse them and guess what the lesson will be about. Elicit fox hunting from students. Make sure they understand that “fox hunting” is not what we traditionally understand by “hunting”…

  2. Students complete the sentences with the words in bold from the text abuot fox hunting.

  3. Ss find the information in the text as quickly as possible

  4. What do the following words collocate with? Ss find collocations in the text.

  5. I’ve also included a fox hunting podcast. You may want to use it as a lead-in. You can also play it at the end of the lesson and ask how the situation has chaged - the articlewas published much earlier than the podcast.
