- A speaking task based on a reading passage. Ss roam around the room and find pen pals that match their new identity.

would like to find a pen pal who is also a businessperson and lives in

Procedure
- Distribute one description of a person per one student. See the handout – you will have to cut out the descriptions.
- Ss read and learn the information from their descriptions by heart.
- Tell Ss that these are their new identities. Ss walk around the room and talk to other Ss sharing information. They have to find a perfect pen pal.
- When everybody has found their matching pen pal ask Ss to refer back in pairs why they are perfect pen pals.

Dear friend
My name is miss. Bahare. I am from Iran and the name of the city I live is Esfahan. I am student at university. My major is English language translation. One of lessen in this major is writing the letter and I want to write ones for you to tell me that is right or not.
I have a lot of friend in university but I really like you become my foreign friend for me to speak English with each other.
I want to familiarize you with my family. I am the first children in my family. My parents are teacher, but my father is retired now. I have a sister and a brother. I really love my family and I have a good life.
I am a girl and I am happy about that. I love my name too. The meaning of my name is spring. Spring is important season in my country and I guess all of the people like that season.
I don’t know you hear the name of my city before or not. My city is very beautiful in all of the season. Esfahan is an attractive city and around the year has a lot of tourist. There are some famous building and places on it. Esfahan has a long river that make the city green and its weather is very clean and fresh.
All of the people in my country are Moslem and their religion is Islamic.
I told you some things that I thought was need and I become glad if you give me some information about yourself, your family, your country and every thing you like.
