“California” – lesson plan
Shared by Karolina Czurak
A very nice lesson about California.
Procedure
- Learners listen to the songs (you have a compilation in mp3 file you can download below) and decide in what order they are played. Ss write numbers next to song titles.
- Ask Ss what the lesson will be about. Give them 2 minutes to come up with everything they know about California (in pairs).
- Ss do the qiz about California – they decide if sentences are true or false.
- Then, Ss analyze the map and complete the senteces.
- Follow-up: If you have flyers of various California attractions (Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo) you can bring them to the classroom and ask Ss to work in group and make a presentation about them. If you don’t have realia you can use a computer lab to do the same. Finally, you can present Ss with some reading about California or Hollywood and treat this lesson plan as a longish lead-in.
